The Mission of the non-profit Breast Cancer Warrior Foundation (BCWF) is to create a world without Breast Cancer. To fulfill this Mission, The Breast Cancer Warrior Foundation will focus its efforts in the following areas:

(1) Online Education: With the use of the web site BreastCancerWarrior.net the BCWF will make the most up-to-date, trustworthy Breast Cancer information available in a clear, concise and reliable manner.  And, science having proven that laughter is powerful medicine, BreastCancerWarrior.net will publish articles (and even a comic strip) designed to bring light and laughter to the darkness of a battle with cancer.

All those who battle Breast Cancer, regardless of when they were diagnosed, will benefit from the information, resources and links provided on BreastCancerWarrior.net. 

(2) Breast Cancer Clinical Trials: Because the discovery of the cure and prevention of Breast Cancer are dependent on human Clinical Trials participation, filling all Breast Cancer Clinical Trials openings is essential. 

Unfortunately, due to the prevalence of mis-information about the procedures and treatments involved in CT's and the costs involved in participation in a Clinical Trial, thousands of Breast Cancer Clinical Trials openings go unfilled every year.  It is these widely recognized barriers to Clinical Trials participation that the Breast Cancer Warrior Foundation will work to remove.

Today, countless myths and  misunderstandings  about what a Clinical Trials participant undergoes prevent thousands of Breast Cancer patients from enrolling in a Clinical Trial.   Often, lack of enrollment is a direct result of lack of awareness on the part of a Breast Cancer patient, about the mere existence of a particular Clinical Trial.  Fear of improper treatment -- the erroneous belief that placebos are routinely used in lieu of actual medicine -- is yet another barrier to enrollment.

To help the public better understand Clinical Trials, the Breast Cancer Warrior Foundation will conduct an extensive National Breast Cancer Clinical Trials Awareness Campaign.  This multi-media campaign will include television, radio, internet and print and will present the facts about what actually happens during Breast Cancer Clinical Trials, putting to rest the widely-held but erroneous assumptions that prevent so many Breast Cancer Clinical Trials openings from being filled.

The other significant barrier to CT participation involves finances.  The expenses that routinely accompany Breast Cancer Clinical Trials participation can include not only the medical treatment costs but also the cost of commuting to and from a Clinical Trials facility; the cost of hotel or motel lodging for the duration of a CT; the cost of childcare, and a myriad of other expenses all which currently serve to make CT participation financially impossible for countless Breast Cancer patients.

By means of its National  Breast Cancer Clinical Trials Awareness Campaign and its fundraising activities, the BCWF will strive to ensure that no Breast Cancer Clinical Trial opening goes unfilled as the result of fear or finances.

The sooner that Mission succeeds, the sooner the cure and prevention of Breast Cancer will be found and the sooner we will all live in a world without Breast Cancer.
